Take one wider photo and useful close-ups. Include doors, wires, pipes and anything that must open, move or remain accessible.
Use one clear reference
Mark a reference edge or point. Measure hole centres from it, and label which side you are looking at. Keep the original measured values rather than rounding them away.
Label every unit
Use millimetres or inches and write the unit on the drawing. If your sketch uses both, label each measurement clearly. Do not use photo pixels as dimensions.
Mark what you don’t know
Uncertain hole sizes, inaccessible space and unknown loads can be marked as questions. Choose measurement help in the request if you need guidance.
Send the original sketch
Photograph the page straight on in good light, with all edges and dimensions visible. Upload that image or a PDF. There is no need to retype every dimension into a form.
